About
cubrid-lab is an independent open-source organization building modern client tooling for CUBRID, the Apache-2.0 licensed open-source RDBMS with strong adoption in the Korean public sector.
Why this exists
CUBRID powers a significant share of Korean public-sector information systems (industry surveys estimate thousands of instances), yet its client ecosystem has historically been thin: the official Python driver's final release shipped in 2014, and higher-level integrations were sparse. Teams maintaining CUBRID-based systems were effectively locked out of the modern data stack — ORMs, web frameworks, analytics tooling, and AI agents.
cubrid-lab closes that gap with a complete, tested, documented client ecosystem, starting with Python (stable and published) and expanding to Rust, Go, and TypeScript.
What we optimize for
- Correctness over speed of shipping — every change passes live-database CI matrices and coverage floors before merge.
- Runnable truth — claims are backed by runnable examples and reproducible benchmarks, not marketing copy.
- Accessibility — bilingual documentation (English canonical, Korean maintained) because a large share of CUBRID users work in Korean.
